An AA dive bar that survived the pandemic

No reviews in 4 years ? Yet this is one of the few stripclubs in the Hampton Roads area to survive the pandemic. I think that about half the clubs in this area have closed permanently; especially the AA clubs were hard-hit. This is an AA club. In about a dozen visits over the years I have rarely have seen a non-AA dancer or for that matter a non-AA customer. From the outside it looks like a dive and a little dangerous, but it's right across the street from a police station, so that might add some reassurance. I've never had trouble in clubs like this, though. I think most guys are just there for the same reason I am, so if you are polite and respectful, everyone focuses on why they are there and all is well.

The cover charge was $10. Beers (Heineken) were $6. There is a 20 foot long decently stocked bar and a 25 foot stage with pole-dancing areas on each end and a long mirror on the back wall, in which the girls admire themselves. They serve food, things like chicken tenders and fries. It's not very good food, but in Newport News and I think other Virginia towns the SC must serve food -- I think it might be an ordinance that they are a kind of restaurant. In addition to the main stage there is a side stage that I've never seen anyone dancing at. There are also a two pool tables and three TVs. The music was not very loud.

It was a Friday night, but not very busy. About 10 customers and 5 girls dancing at one time. The girls changed a few times and I think there were overall about 8 girls at the club. The girls were average-looking AA, some marginally qualified to be strippers, but one of them was very pretty and athletic. She danced very well and did athletic things on the pole. I stayed for two hours watching a playoff basketball game, as well as watching the girls. I tipped all the girls, regardless of qualifications. The other customers were not tipping much, and some not at all, I think.
