A little rough looking, but a solid club
I arrived at about 10:00 PM on Friday evening. There were two beefy security guards manning the front door. I was told that the cover charge was an astounding $30! However, this included 2 drink tickets, worth $5 each. Therefore, the actual cover charge is a merely excessive $20, rather than an outrageous $30. I asked about possible discounts because I know they used to have a military discount, but was told they no longer have any.
Purple Diamond is basically a big open room with a stage in the far right corner. To the left is a narrow runway stage opposite the bar that runs along a section of the back wall. In between is the entrance to the lap dance/VIP dance area. This may not be a dive bar, but it’s definitely not upscale, and shows quite a bit of wear and tear.
The club was very busy, probably about 75% capacity with a pretty diverse crowd. It was mostly younger, with both blue collar looking types as well as young thug looking types, with a strong contingent of older PL’s, as well. I immediately thought of the Follies dayshift crowd.
