Bar Tropical Provides Options
In TJ on Monday (2/28/22) after an 11-hour drive down 395 that took a lot out of me. Not a bad drive; very pretty, and gas prices were in the $6+ range. Glad I filled up in Nevada ($4+). So. Cal. gas was in the $5+ range. If I plan it right, flying is less than the cost of gas, much less the wear and tear, but this trip I needed my car.
At the last minute, I made my reservation at Rizo for two nights. Tried for a master, because I wanted a Jacuzzi, but they were booked, save studio suites which most have Jacuzzis, except the one I was assigned. Nice room on the fifth floor and with a stripper pole and a balcony. The elevator is weird in that the lobby is between the second and third floors, so you either have to go up half a set of stairs to the elevator or down half a set. The rooms at Rizo are better done than Cascadas and a few dollars cheaper. It was $90 for two nights with my VIP discount and a $50 deposit. (As I recall, the same M&T nights at Cascadas a month ago was $130 for a master room.)
Did a lap around the clubs and they were all slow, save HK of course. Plenty of girls with potential, but they came across as entitled and either too flat for my tastes or too fake/overdone. Ended up at Bar Tropical. The Rizo Web site said reserve a master for two nights and get a free bucket of beer in the bar. I was given a card for ONE free beer. On a previous visit, I stayed one night at Rizo in a master and was given the same card. I thought about pressing the issue, but I just didn’t care. I don’t go to TJ to drink.
