After recovering from my successful Trio with the Sisters of Sinaloa and night of recovery I once again joined wingman RonJax2 for our final full day in TJ. We started again at Restaurante Azul. For any first timers in the Zona there are 2 main restaurants located near Cascadas hotel and Hotel Rizo de Oro: Azuls which is immediately to the left of the rear entrance of Cascadas and Senda Norte which is around the corner to the right from the front entrance of Hotel Rizo. Historically the VIP card at the hotels offered 20% one meal a day at the respective co-located restaurants: Azuls for Cascadas and Senda Norte for Rizo. I’ve heard recently this is no longer the case for VIP cards through Rizo, but cannot validate this as I have been staying at Cascadas my last 2 trips.

In comparing the 2 restaurants, I prefer Azuls for cafe mas fuerte and their Mexican coffee as well which I believe has an ample helping of Azucar Maron (brown sugar). The views at Azuls from their 2nd floor balcony also offer unique views of the freelance chicas in the back alley as well as some of the smaller clubs. For a good hangover meal I highly recommend the huevos rancheros.
