You can often get your expectations met, if they are not high to begin with

Decided to try Boogies on the last Tuesday before Christmas figuring that the Tuesday special for $10 dances and the impending arrival of Christmas might have made for some better than usual talent, either in terms of quantity or quality. I was wrong, but got the job done.

The usual on the physical plant, the parking is free and watched by cameras, but the lot is a mess. Use care when turning in off Michigan Ave as the potholes appear almost immediately. The parking lot on the side was sparsely populated, but the area in back had more cars. I thought that might mean more workers, but the talent was weak. The 60 somethings, that included Lisa Lisa and Tori, a few 30 somethings and two maybe late 20s. I paid the five dollar cover, got my ticket and found a table in the center facing the main bar. There is a very small stage right behind the entrance and another near the bathrooms. Bathroom here is not good, but better than Henry 8N up the street. As is widely reported, smoking is permitted here which means it is apparently required since smoke is very prevalent. I bring a Bogie’s shirt to wear just during my time inside so I can minimize the smoke residue on my clothes at whatever is the next stop. Beer is $7 regardless of domestic or import.

I was getting ready to walk away and move on given the lousy lineup when I was approached by Autumn. She’s pretty, small B cups that are pierced and a decent conversationist. We chatted briefly and then went up to VIP. It is $10 to get a ‘booth’ and nearly all are very small w one chair from a cheap event hall supplier. The booths are curtained and private if you ignore the toll collector that is positioned close to most of the booths, just a curtain away. There is no pretense about what the dances will involve. I settled on a covered one half session for the standard boogies price plus a 20% gratuity - all of which was negotiated before heading to VIP. Service was good, a bit rushed once it became clear that she was one dance away from being on stage, but I was fine moving on.
