Wish Gold Club could live up to it’s potential.
Hidden away in an industrial area lies Pompano’s Gold Club.
Arrived around 10:30 on a Friday night. No charge for parking, maybe the parking dude was taking a break because I seem to remember it costing $2 on my one other visit. Cover was only $5 and the doorman was surprisingly friendly. You walk into the club and the bathrooms are to the left and the rest of the club is to the right. As you enter there is a long bar on the right, across from a 2 pole stage and some raised VIP/bottle service tables (I assume) behind the stage. Walk past the bar and stage and there are around 15 tables with three chairs each. Beyond that is another stage, more tables and then towards the back of the club are the VIP booths.
It looks like this was an industrial building that was converted into a club, but they did a really good job. Well lit, but not too bright. The music is not too loud so you can have a conversation. Actually, the club felt like it may be a little too big, especially compared to the cramped Diamond Dolls. Things are so spread out. If you’re sitting at the second stage, the main stage seems some distance away.
