Slowly improving at showcase

Friday nights can be hit or miss at showcase. Arrived right after 10 pm to find the small parking lot next to the building nearly full and thought maybe that was a good sign. Paid the 30 dollar cover and was buzzed into the main club room. Pat down by security and into what looked like the waiting room for the MVA. Maybe 15 guys seated at small round tables. One AA spinner on stage kind of walking back and forth half bored. Saw only one or two other dancers circulating among the guys who were either playing on their phones or watching Maryland get trounced by Iowa on the TV that looked like it had once been in someone’s bedroom a few years well actually many years ago.

The stage reins across the front of the club with a row of socially distanced single chairs exactly 6 feet apart. Club staff was wearing masks but many dancers and patrons were not. The bathroom was still disgusting with one room with a urinal and a sink. The second bathroom was locked today it is apparently now a private dancer bathroom so they can leave their tampon applicators in the toilet bowl without having to run all the way upstairs. So if you need to take a dump you are left with a urinal or the back left corner of the fenced in parking area.

The dancer drought finally ended by 11 as several familiar faces from before the plague including Mandy and Destiny. By 12 it was more of a party atmosphere with several couples and larger parties. Was interested in a dance and quoted 20 dollar room fee and then 30-40 dollars per song depending on the dancer level of dress. Apparently neither price tier can convince the removal of pasties which many of the dancers were wearing.
