A Pleasant Surprise

Let's be clear: there is no reason for you to be in this part of town at night. Its proximity to the most violent crime zip code in Phoenix and the lack of anything but heavy industrial and commercial structures (the Mercado and Costco Business Center across the street aside), you have no excuse for "accidentally" being in the neighborhood.

Having said that, I felt the parking lot was surprising secure (as opposed to, say, T&A Cabaret, where you're never sure if you're gonna come out to a knife sticking into your tire). There are potholes to avoid, certainly, but plenty of spaces to be had, and it's decently lit.

Why was I here? a current favorite dancer told me she was taking a hiatus from her regular club to come work here, so that meant a schlep out to Grand & 35th Avenue. I honestly did not know what to expect when I entered the place. What I did find: a very large bouncer who took the $7 cover, asked to see my ID, gave me a polite pat down and then a hand sanitizer spritz.
