Not Bad For A Slow Night
After seeing their IG post that they were open I decided to hit The Body Shop late on Labor Day night. The club maintains an active presence on IG. Being that it was a holiday I was a bit surprised that they were open. They are open Monday through Saturday 8:30- 2:00. The club has a small fenced-in parking area out front, plus some covered spaces within the building. The building actually housed an auto body shop in its former life which accounts for the covered parking. There is additional parking outside the fence to the left of the club, along the road (kinda dark along here). I’m uncertain if it’s OK to park at the well-lighted building next door on the right or whether that area is monitored 24 hrs. On this evening I was able to grab a space inside the fence. The club has signs posted along the way to guide you to their location. It’s located in an industrial area parallel to, but not directly accessible from, Route 1.
The cover is $20 payable at the booth before you enter the main area. They will also check your ID but not scan it. There is an indoor mask mandate in PG County at this time. You are greeted by a big sign on the door that reminds you of this. I think I remember some masks being available in the vestibule for those who forget theirs. Once inside, the relatively low to the ground stage is on the right. The stage has one pole. There is some cordoned off VIP seating to the right and the left of the stage. The general seating area consists of about a half dozen, or so, 2-person couches. Some are located along the wall and 3 face the stage but are back away from the stage a bit. There are also some metal chairs with padded seats and small 2 or 3-person tables available in the general area. The bar is in the back of the main room. They have sodas, water and energy drinks for sale. I don’t know the pricing as I did not ask. The Body Shop is a BYOB club. You purchase your cup from the bar and fill it outside with your adult beverage of choice and come back inside with your cup. I didn’t see anyone doing this on this evening.
When I arrived shortly after 10 there were 3 dancers working: “D” who is often featured in the club’s IG posts, “S” and “G”. Each rotated through a 3 song set and were totally naked by the beginning of third song. D and S were heavily tatted. G possibly had one small tat. I’m Ok with some tats. But D and S were probably a little too much for my taste. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
