Unbelievably loud, even for a club, but some nice dancers
I was in Detroit on a couple-night layover, staying near the airport, and decided to check out a couple of the nearby clubs. I took a ride-share, but if I were to be in the area again I'd be sure to rent a car. There were very view rides available, on either Lyft or Uber. Wait times were long, and I nearly got stranded without a ride back to my hotel from the club. Possibly this is covid-related (I thought the airport and huge number of hotels would mean easy rides), or maybe it's just Detroit.
In any case, I made my way to the Landing Strip Lounge on a Thursday about 9:30pm. There was a $20 cover charge at the time. My bottle of water was $11. The waitresses were a bit slow, mostly because they were busy I think.
The club was dominated by the central stage which runs across most of the club floor. There were tables and chairs next to the stage, then rows of booths on the walls. The club felt smaller and more crowded than I expected from the outside. Some of this was the close spacing of the tables and stage, and possibly some of it was from the punishingly loud music. It was louder even than most clubs, making it very difficult to communicate basic things to waitresses and dancers.
