Mediocre, but maybe you have to spring for the sex show
The third and last club I tried on my recent vist to Portland was Casa Diablo, which was about a fifteen minute ride from downtown. There was no one collecting cover charges when I arrived (about 9:00pm on a Wednesday), but it got staffed later. I don't know what they charged. Masks were generally being worn.
The club is dim, and very red. All of the lighting is red and the furniture is red. The devil theme runs throughout. The room has a large/long stage with two squares with poles connected by a catwalk. It's surrounded by wooden chairs and then along the walls are wooden benches with tables and more chairs. The seating wasn't great for watching the stage. Half the seating was facing away from the stage since the tables were set up more like a restaurant. And because the tables were fairly large, there weren't very many places for different groups (or individuals) to sit. It was very cold.
The bar is in the back. The bartender was topless. My water was $4. Of note, they gave me all of my change in $2 bills, even though I paid with a $50. The $2 thing was mostly amusing, but giving me *all* of my change that way without asking was mildly irritating. They have a vegan menu which more than one dancer praised, but I didn't try any of the food. The owner is apparently something of a vegan evangelist.
