Nice club, hot girls, reasonable prices
After a lackluster Sunday clubbing start on my roadie to Tampa, I hoped for better luck Monday evening in the Clearwater clubs. I had three in mind and started first at OZ. It’s easy to find, just off the highway and there was plenty of parking when I got there around 830p. There was a pretty large food truck/trailer in the parking lot that was open for business. I’d just eaten so didn’t check it out closely.
I headed inside and paid a modest cover of $6. The club has been described before but the best adjective I have is elaborate. The stage has a lot of detail - 3 poles on 2 levels, including one or more that spin for the dancers to do tricks, and they did. There’s a door at the back of the stage so the dancers can make an entrance. Lots of TVs. Elaborate light system. Bar to the back in a triangle or trapezoidal shape with couches behind the bar and against the wall. That’s a little weird as they can’t see the stage, but I did see a couple or two snuggling back there so maybe that’s a bonus of being out of view of the stage. There are also a couple or three rows of stadium type tiered seating in front of the stage.
I grabbed a seat at the bar and got a yuengling draft for $5. I later switched to a corona bottle which was $6.75. Almost as soon as I sat down the dj called the dancers to the stage, a bunch of lights started flashing, sirens were wailing and the “let’s get ready to rummmmmbbblllleee!!!” Michael Buffer clip was playing. They were announcing the 2 for $40 dance special. After the stage show one of the girls came over to offer me the 2fer. She was pretty hot, but having just got there I declined. Mistake.
