A small but far from intimate affair
I saw this place while driving from the airport to my hotel and thought "What the hell." Parked in the lot of a breakfast/lunch place next door, walked over, $5 cover, standard pat down than walked in, turned the corner and BOOM - I thought I had walked into someone's small get together in a converted garage. This place is small. The first thing you see is a small, square bar and connected to it's back side is a small stage. Some banquet chairs are lined up next to each other and I think 4 or 6 small tables with chairs 2 chairs each. One private dance area, small with a single black curtain, was against the back wall. One dancer was there a thick black girl who was kinda cute, sorta not really, having an unsmiling conversation with a white guy in his 60's. The bartender was kinda cute, sorta not really but friendly enough. One other person, a younger, heavy guy, was the only other customer there. He had 2 empty beer bottles in front of him and 3 more full ones sitting in a bucket. I guess he wanted to stock up before the rush. I ordered a gin and tonic ( flat tonic but a decent heavy pour) for $8. Gave the bartender $10. The one dancer got on stage and gave an unenthusiastic performance where she directed her gaze at the empty room in front of her as opposed to the 3 customers behind her around the bar. She finished, the guy with the beers got a shot of tequila and I finished my drink and left. The bartender looked disappointed but unsurprised at my departure.
