Disappointing visit.
I decided to stop by a club that I haven’t visited since last summer after they reopened from the original shutdown, Dream On. I pulled in to the parking lot around 11:30 AM and plenty of parking, which is discrete behind the building. The lot looked clean and so did the building from the last time I was there. They open at 11, but I was the only guy in the place at this time. No cover, no ID check, no bouncer, no mask, and walked up to the bar and got my $3 bottle of water.
Looking around, I saw a number of positive changes. The awkward rack/stage had been replaced with a much improved version. Plus the hanging plexiglass sheets between the patrons and the rack are gone. The little room in the back that had a pool table as I remember, now has a smaller stage/pole and the table is gone. There are three lap dance booths now with black sheer curtains and a larger VIP booth with a red sheer curtain. Normal prepandemic seating at the rack and bar. There are signs on the pillars that say dances $30/song or 3 for $100. That damn new math! VIP was listed at $200 for 20 minutes. This little dive place actually looked the best I have ever seen it.
I took a seat at the rack and the first dancer up was Anneyst (something like that). She was a tall thin white brunette with a cute face. She did three songs and I tipped two dollars on the first song. She just kind of stayed at the pole, except walk over to swipe the money off the rack. She didn’t really do much, including not removing any clothes. The second song, I laid out two bucks again with about the same response from her. The third song, I did not tip and it didn’t seem to make a difference with her. I have never been to a strip club where the dancer didn’t strip something. It reminded me of a trip to a club in Minneapolis where I tipped a dollar (the norm) and the dancer said is that all you are going to give me. I asked her what her dance was worth and she said $4. I laid out another $3 as I didn’t want to start something for three bucks. I didn’t take her back for a lap dance! Anyways, I thought about reaching over the rack and grabbing three dollars back as I didn’t think Anneyst was worth the $4 I put out.
