Cool club, lukewarm girls

I went in on a boring Thursday evening with money to spend and time to kill. I paid a 10$ cover and got a drink then sat down close to the stage. I watched as girls sat together in groups or walked out on to the floor just to go hide backstage after a few minutes. It wasn't busy so I see why they were hiding but at the same time, there can't be any money backstage so not exactly a smart move from a money perspective.

After an hour of beer drinking, shot taking, ESPN, and people watching I was finally approached by a girl who probably would have walked right past me had I not made eye contact. She was slim and black with proportional curves, you could tell she was athletic but not in a "female bodybuilder" sort of way, not my usual type but very personable. She had an optimistic attitude toward the night that had obviously not caught on amongst her coworkers, it was very refreshing and despite not being my type she was undeniably gorgeous so I thought a dance with her would be more fun than it would be with most of the other girls I'd seen, so when she offered me a dance I said yes. She told me the dances were 40$/each because the semi private 25$ dances were closed, I was hesitant because that's above anything you'll find in columbus but she must have trained under Jordan Belfort because lo and behold we ended up in the dance room. There was lots of two way contact, standard mileage for columbus, and she found a lot of creative ways to position herself in a way that kept me engaged. She had a smooth and seductive dancing style that let me know she had a lot of experience. We did two songs and I tipped, partially out of appreciation and partially out of sympathy for the dead night. I didn't end up dancing with anyone else, a few girls approached but there was no enthusiasm and it seemed like they were just phoning it in. "My girl" did end up coming back and visiting my table but I was ready to head out so I just bid her goodnight.
