I've become a bit of a regular at this club and I'm beginning to wonder if that's part of the problem. Expectations vs reality post-covid. For those who've never been here it's in Irvington and is just a step above a hole-in-the-wall hood bar like the former Embers and the late Paradizios (god that place smelled). The space is as clean as it's going to get with wood flooring, a central stage, 2 VIP booths, non functioning game machines and a vending machine that no one in their right mind uses. Beers have remained $7 a pop, which I'm grateful for since most clubs I visit these days seem to be trying to make up for the lost covid year by nickel and diming their customers. Now to the point. The women. They're mostly black with a sprinkle of latino usually young enough to catch your eye, though the day I went there was a woman who reminded me of the beyond their prime dancers that the old Bottoms Up regularly employed. Latina, but at least 70 and obese. Not just overweight, OBESE. Amazingly, she still got several clients to spend money on her for dances. More power to them. As for me, my ATFs were nowhere to be found and I think that got me treated like a newbie. Because this club is high mileage a certain amount of discretion is obviously required. If no one knows you, or sees you tossing dollars (I don't spend if I'm not getting a dance) you might not get to play. Pretty sure that's what happened to me, which is a shame because that's pretty much the only reason I come. There's no other place that has a selection of black women who are (usually) willing to play at their price point. This is the 2nd week in a row that I've gone and pretty much been frozen out by my lady of choice. Unusual. This isn't to poo poo the establishment. I'm admittedly...picky and there were ladies there who were clearly part of the Vic's program. They just weren't my speed. The place itself though is great. $10 cover, $7 beer, $10 dances...and whatever else you get in to. Just be sure to let the dancers know you're there for fun. The only drawback Happy Hunting!
