Another humpday at Marcets

I am not going to describe the layout of this place, since I've done that in several reviews and it's not changed much in the last period--I am not even sure if it's been cleaned in the last period. It is a dive bar, small, that tends to blast regaton or similar music. One of the reasons I often come during the day, besides my own schedule, is that you can park on the street. After 5pm it is residents only (although there is on-street parking about a five minute walk away.) It is also close to I-80, so I often pass it when I am driving that way. I don't think I would go far out of my way.

I stopped by for about an hour in the early afternoon in the middle of the week. Admittedly, this is not prime time for going to SC. That said, it was actually full--although this is a tiny bar. There were maybe four or five men and maybe about the same number of women, plus the bartender and somebody who I think is either the owner or the manager. (A middle-aged black woman who is very chatty and who is there often.)

One of the dancers was a white woman, overweight and I think overeager, and I would say a bit over the hill. She is there pretty much every time I am there, and she never seems to remember me. At one point she told me she was the only white dancer there, which might be true, but not really a selling point. While she is nice, she is not physically my type. After buying a can of Coors ($5) and letting the first dancer that I was not interested, I sat around for a bit.
