Saturday night at Blue Astor
I haven't been here in a while, actually before the lockdown. It's a long drive to get here, but I will stop by if I'm in the area.
The place has had a major remodel, and it is basically the same layout as before, but it looks cleaner and generally better. It does have one major difference, when you enter, you don't go through a hallway and past a desk, you enter into an antisway where there is a desk and you pay the cover there. They also sometimes check id and take your temperature. Also the cover is 5 daytime, 10 nightime.
The bar, stages, and dance area are in the same place but the dj booth has been moved to the side of the stage. The bar also has a new quartz top. I'm always concerned about stone tops because you could easily break a glass or bottle if it should be dropped.
Drink cost is beer domestic 4 import 5, shots 8, mixed drinks I don't know. Dances cost 25 each, and I don't know what VIP costs. Probably others have addressed that.
The place was relatively crowded but it could have handled much more. There were about 6 or 7 dancers, which were mostly on the thick side and they weren't really working the crowd. They were mostly hanging with regulars or going in and out of the smoking area, but I did talk for a while to a cute blond and got some dances. They were very disappointing. Mostly air dances.
