Not back in action, yet ! ? !

It apparently will be a while before Wackos is back, if it can even survive the panicdemic. I walked in about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, and there were few customers, fewer girls and little evidence that this was any more than an overdecorated, darkened, corner bar. Seven or eight customers were scattered around the room, nursing drinks, and I saw only two dancers in the first few minutes. Most of the bar stools had been removed leaving about 6 feet between stools (I wonder why they picked 6 feet - not) Even though there were only two other customers at the bar, the young, well endowed, barmaid still managed to take about 5 minuted to get around to asking me what I wanted. I'm pretty sure I have been served faster when this place was crowded.

While waiting for my drink, I took a careful look around. There is no evidence that management attempted to refresh the place, or even just clean up during the months Wackos was shuttered. I did see that there were actually 4 dancers in the room (a fifth showed up just before I left). The DJ was (thankfully) not shouting incoherently into his microphone three or four times per song, and the music seemed to have been turned down from Wackos normal oppressively loud setting. I even understood enough to catch a dancer's name when introduced by the DJ.

But I didn't visit to check out the decor or to critique the sound system. I came to see the girls. It only took a few minutes to note that although all four (and later 5) dancers were in their 20s or 30s, thin and not interested in dancing. I know it was only 3 in the afternoon, but damn! The energy in the room was lower than a Biden rally. The girls were clearly not interested, and that was enough for me. Clearly, the dancers were working a stage rotation (main stage, bar stage, and the little circle stage) but they were not "busy" about it. In the time I was in the club there was never more than one dancer on any of the stages ant the same time. Overtly bored, uncaring dancers do not get my motor running. I was there less than 45 minutes, had two drinks, and left.
