End of The Line?

Second trip to GGR since they reopened after having had been closed for nearly six months and this is truly a depressing place to be. They have been occasionally offering discount coupons on Facebook and Instagram which gives you half off your entry fee but without any discount you are now charged $20 cover and, as previously mentioned, if you leave the place at any point even if it is just to step two feet outside the front door to check the weather, they have the frigging audacity to expect you to fork over another $20. So the bottom line is, don't leave until you are absolutely certain you won't be returning that day.

I arrived on a Thursday afternoon at 4:15 and the front door was still locked. They have never opened on time, but today for whatever reason they did not start letting customers in until close to 4:30. This may seem minor, but it might also be another sign that this could be the beginning of the end for this place. There were only 6 dancers scheduled and I am not sure if they are purposely limiting the number of girls working on a given night because of the continued health scare or if they are having trouble getting anyone to agree to work there right now. The lineup on this day was as follows: Marilyn, Ally, Kelly, Tatiana, Jessica, Adrianna. Of the six, I found Adrianna to be the most to my liking so I requested a lap dance from her but, unfortunately, I was not overly happy with her technique as I found it to be somewhat lame and too slow and methodical for my tastes. Apparently she is not as good at working it in the room as most of the others tend to be. I had also asked for a dance with Kelly, but Skinny Butt the Incomprehensible DJ F***ed up and never called my number. I ultimately decided the hell with it and never bothered calling him out on it or asking again since getting a dance from Kelly was not a make it or break it proposition as far as my overall enjoyment factor was concerned. Marble Mouth was in rare form on this day and, believe it or not, he seems to be getting even worse as I probably could only understand about 10 percent of what he said. There was no female bartender, but rather one of the larger male staff served up the drinks and did so sparingly as he would only surface roughly every 15 minutes or so. At one point I just refilled my own cup which I don't believe anyone noticed or cared and it really shouldn't matter since there is no alcohol there.

Overall, the quality of the dancers was OK but not great and those of us who have been going to GGR for years already know that the talent level dropped off considerably over the past ten years or so and so, especially given the current situation, it is pointless to expect much from this place. I will say that the one on one lap dances are still for the most part very high contact, although I selected the wrong girl on this visit, and so along with Breathless this may be the only north/central NJ club where you can get an experience such as this without having to shell out the big money for the private VIP rooms. However, you really have to wonder just what the future of this club is. I stayed for about 3 1/2 hours if for no other reason than to just have someplace to be other than the gym or my own home for awhile and, with one exception when a group of 4 men came in together, the entire time I was there the number of customers was LESS than the number of dancers (6). I actually passed by the place on my way to and from another excursion on a recent Saturday night at about 10pm and the parking lot was more than half empty. A little while later that night I passed by Breathless just for comparison purposes and there were cars all over the place. Both times I have paid a visit to GGR since early September has been the same: extremely dead and depressing and with my wondering why I even bothered wasting my time and money. I haven't been to any of the other area clubs since the re-openings but, based on the reviews I have read, it doesn't sound as if many of them are experiencing the same problem with lack of customers. It would be a shame if this place did end up shutting down given the history so many of us have here, but we have been seeing the downward spiral happening for years and so this may be inevitable.
