Better to Wait

I was driving north on 99e / McLoughlin Blvd and noticed the Gold Club. This used to be a Dolphin Club and as far as Portland area clubs go, it was pretty good. From the outside things looked pretty well. And I was shocked that the parking lot up front was so full. The building sits pretty far back from the street and there was a sea of cars out front. This seemed promising... I've been missing clubs... I had cash in my wallet and time on my hands...

OK the club has a pretty funny bar menu. Drinks called Busted Cherry, Cream Pie, Blue Balls, etc. The layout is pretty nice. Pool table, one area looked like a mini casino or an arcade (hard to tell the difference anymore), maybe lotto machines...

BUT the full parking lot was deceptive. Maybe one of the neighboring businesses is using them for overflow. The club was dead. Dancers looked uninspired. Think the few customers I saw were falling asleep. I might have stayed about 5-10 minutes and then just wasn't feeling it. Pretty rare for me to walk out of a club but that's what I did this time. Maybe once these counties get into more advanced recovery phases it will be worth a visit but for now, not for me.
