More Than Expected, But Far Less Than Ideal

This was my first post-covid visit to Go Go Rama and I am most likely going to repeat much of what the other recent posters said. The basic setup of the club remains the same in that there is the large main stage in the middle of the place with an inner bar and outer bar surrounding the stage, but now they put up a makeshift plastic barricade around the stage which makes it seem as if you are watching the dancers in an aquarium. They have decided to jack up the cover charge to $20 and increase the price of an individual lap dance to $25 for 5 minutes. I don't know if these are a sort of "covid assessment" charges, but I would be willing to bit that the costs will NOT go down after the vaccine is readily available and things feel a bit more normal.

Apparently they have been struggling to get both dancers and customers into the place, which really isn't much of a surprise, and on this Friday when I visited they had about 7 girls working which is a lot less than would have been the case on a regular Friday a year ago. I don't even know if there were ever more than 7 customers in the place while I was there so it's obviously not a good sign when the employees outnumber the customers. Most of us who have known this club for awhile agree that the overall talent level has dropped off considerably over the past 10 years or so, but I do have to say that the selection wasn't all that bad on this day all things considered. I was a bit surprised to learn that they are permitting lap dances and, for the most part, the level of contact is just about the same as it was previously but the difference is that some of the girls don't feel comfortable facing you during the dance despite both parties being required to wear face coverings the entire time and so you could be staring at the girl's back for the duration of your private time together, but she will most likely still do a good job of grinding on you. I had dances from two women - Grace, a tall blonde who seems to prefer to spend the bulk of her down time in the ladies' room, and Sara, a very well-endowed Hispanic brunette. Grace took the approach of not facing me during the dance, but yet her technique was still quite good despite the modification to the standard MO and Sara pretty much operated as if the covid pandemic never happened so you can draw your own conclusions from that.

The bottom line is that, just like pretty much ever other kind of experience these days, the whole thing just seemed rather weird and a little depressing despite the fact that I got more than I expected when I initially walked in the door. You just have to wonder what the future of this type of business will be, even if we continue to move in the right direction as far as new covid cases are concerned because a lot of your old favorites from back in the day probably won't be doing this anymore and who knows what it will all look like 3, 6 or 12 months from now. The price increases may not turn away a lot of guys, but they certainly aren't going to win a lot of new fans either.
