First Time Back

Henry the VIII Lounge
1715 Middlebelt Rd Inkster, MI 48141
I have been working from home since March, so my weekly visits to Detroit stopped since then. Last week I finally decided to drive up (from Cleveland) to visit a client in person. Since I haven't been in a club here or anywhere since March I decided to stop in to H8 just to see what the new Normal looks like. I didn't have a lot of time, so this wasn't a real visit, I just wanted to see how clubs were working now so I could decide if it was safe and worthwhile to start clubbing again. To be clear, I don't want to take risks if I can avoid it, and although I really want to start clubbing again, I am willing to wait longer if I see that this is still too dangerous. The club itself hasn't changed much. Although I walked in with a mask on, I don't think that was required since I saw guys come in after me without any, and no one gave them any shit about it. Likewise, I didn't see any seated customers wearing any. One bartender did have a mask on, but she had it down by her chin. I ordered a beer (I normally drink scotch, but again I wasn't sure I wanted to risk drink from a glass with ice yet). I was joined by a dancer after she asked if I wanted any company, and if it was OK for her to pull her seat next to mine. No mask, but did have a bottle of hand sanitizer with her that she used. Like I said I just wanted to see what the new normal was, and I did see guys going back for privates, so I can assume things are back to normal back there. Not a lot of people in the bar, so as soon as I was done with my beer I left. So I guess the new normal is whatever you want it to be. If you just want to watch and sit by yourself, you can...or if you want more you can do that as well.

You can sit and be careful as much as you want, but it doesn't help readers that don't want to be careful and need prices for entry/drinks/dances and dancer descriptions.

Didn't state what the beer (or for that matter anything) cost. As well as the known entry fee (for those that are somehow unaware).

So how much is the "new normal"?
