I went to New Shakers at 22:30 on a Saturday night. There was a $15 cover at the door. The door girl puts a wristband on your arm that gives you in and out privileges. New Shakers is a nude strip club with BYOB. A sign by the door said that only beer in aluminum cans is allowed. Glass bottles and hard liquor are not allowed. However, I saw a few patrons with hard liquor in glass bottles throughout the night, including at the table next to me where an entire 750 mL Crown Royal was consumed. I guess the rules are not strictly enforced. There were also a few guys coming in with gas station fountain cups that were presumably filled with a mixture of alcohol and soda. You also see people constantly going outside to the parking lot to presumably smoke and consume hard alcohol stashed in their trucks. With regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a sign on the door saying masks were required, but not a single dancer or patron wore a mask inside. People in rural Iowa just don’t seem to care if they get the coronavirus.

A long runway stage comes off of the north wall with two pole positions. Since the club reopened as “New Shakers” in February 2019, the private dance area has been remodeled. There are now six private dance booths, which offer privacy, except when other dancers or customers are walking in and out of the area. There are three booths in the corridor to the right and three booths in the corridor to the left along the east wall. The only other change was the vending machines being removed. Otherwise, the interior looks exactly like it did when “Club Shakers” closed.

There were twelve or thirteen dancers working. I was surprised to find a large colony of African-American dancers at New Shakers because the club is literally in the middle of a cornfield. I would guess half of the dancers working were black, while ninety percent of the patrons were white farm boys. The talent is mostly in the 3 to 7 range. Too many had baby damage. Most dancers get fully nude on stage or will at least flash their pussy. A few bucks tossed on stage gets boobs on your face or a close-up of the vajayjay. Female patrons seated at the stage would constantly get their tops removed by the entertainers, so be aware of this if you are bringing women in your group. Private dances are $25 per song.
