Not a Poor Man’s Game
My first trip here in a number of years. I decided to stop in last night after two swings and misses (J’s Bar up the road was dead...and Louie’s Lounge was full of Louie Anderson’s).
After pulling into the lot, I spoke with the valet who was a nice guy. He told me it was $7 to park, which I felt was reasonable. I was expecting to pay much more. He even let me talk to the bouncer before making a decision since he wasn’t sure if there was an entry fee or a table minimum. The angle they try to play now is that due to capacity restrictions, they can only allow so many at a time. Therefore, they will sometimes set a minimum ($75-100 or so) that you have to spend at the bar. Since I’m a smooth talker, I managed to bypass this and just paid a $23 cover. So basically, you may as well say it costs $30 to get in.
The girl at the front counter was smoking hot, looked to be of some Mediterranean descent if I had to guess. She was friendly and flirty, and she patiently counted out $80 in singles when I asked for change. No 10% surcharge like the clubs in the south suburbs.
