Ups And Downs.
It was a decision on a whim to visit Wackos Wednesday afternoon for lunch, but I had a monger friend that was visiting town after moving last year that claimed he used to eat there all of the time while his ATF was working. He was mildly curious if she was still there and we were both hungry, so add two and two together, and here we are at Wackos at 1PM in the afternoon.
I’ve only been here one or two times during the daytime, so I forgot how therapeutic it was to not see the parking lot chock full of cars or a line of people extending from the door. They have two pieces of paper plastered on the front doors listing the new COVID enforcements entering the club, the biggest that I’m happy about is that they no longer permit indoor smoking. I doubt that will be a permanent change, but I cannot stand tobacco smoke sitting in the air, so I’m enjoying it while I can.
There’s no cover charge to enter during the day, so we strode on inside without a hitch. The whole club was pretty empty, but that was probably because they’ve only been open for 1 or 2 hours. Nobody was dancing on stage just yet when we went to sit at the bar. There were 3 or 4 guys sitting a good distance apart from each other at the bar, and there were 3 guys sitting at the tables around the room. One of the custies had 4 dancers sitting with him, and all the rest were hiding or getting ready in the dressing room. It was a quiet start to the business day, but numbers gradually improved the longer we stayed.
