IME BYOB clubs tend to be more late-night spots w/ usually weak dayshifts - unlike alcohol-selling clubs, the BYOB clubs get to stay open late so the late night party often moves to those - some BYOB places will get really busy late (past 2 am) as the alcohol places close; other BYOB spots actually slow down past 2am since drinking is no longer allowed. even if it's your own booze you brought in.
