Short, disappointing visit to the Criket
Got to the club at 3:45. The construction on the surrounding streets is still going on, but it’s not really a problem getting to the parking lot. I dutifully put on my mask and entered, trying to get my eyes to adjust to the darkness before leaving the entrance hallway; it’s embarrassing to walk into a chair because you can’t see yet. The friendly door dude took my temperature and in I went.
The club was not very busy at all, I’d say there were maybe 8 other patrons. I took a table between the stage and the bar and the ridiculously cute little waitress got me a water for $7. The stage was empty, but after a couple songs a lovely young lady named Amira was called up to dance. She’s got a pretty face, shoulder-length straight dark hair and a fantastic form. Since there so few dancers in the club they each had to dance to four (or maybe it was five) songs, then the DJ played two songs between dancers.
In order to get around some of the new Covid-related rules, the girls no longer go topless on stage. I don’t get it, but whatever.
