So like everybody else in the area, I have been stuck at home since March. I saw that Ragtime was open and since I was, more or less, in the area, I decided to stop by. I had only been here once before, and while it was not a bad experience, in itself it would not be worth coming--except that it was the only place that I know of that was open.

Anyway, the place is a rather large house-turned-bar with a big parking lot. The bar was closed, but there was a tent out back with some chairs. You wash your hands and sit down. There were two other guys and two dancers plus the bartender. There was music being played. The other guys soon left. I bought a light domestic beer ($4) and sat down. One of the dancers came near me--actually dancer is not the correct word, and neither is near me--asked if I could buy her a beer ($4 for a smaller version of the same beer). Another dancer, who had been with a customer who had just left, came by and asked if I could buy her a drink. I did. Since we were at least four or five feet from each other, this three-way conversation was not that easy, especially since their English was not that great. (All three women were Brazilian.) At a point the bartender came by and so it was the three of us. All three were attractive--one was thinner with light skinner, one was thinner with darker skin, and another lighter skin but thicker woman. None were actually perfect, but I thought each was attractive in her own way.

When I had come by several years ago in the day, I was quickly propositioned for a dance with extras. (I did not partake then, so I don't know what the extras actually were.) Today, there was no asking for tips, no asking for dances, no touching. I have no idea if there was anything possible in this regard, but I didn't ask and they didn't offer. The dancers (again, there was no actual dancing) were wearing short shorts and tight tops, but actually nothing that you wouldn't see on a summer day on the street in the Ironbound in Newark (where they all seemed to live).
