Same Old in a Different World
Clubs in Detroit had opened and took a look. Since my last visit quite awhile ago the exterior had changed - a fence now rims the entire perimeter of the parking lot. Everything else appeared the same, enter through a single entrance , $5 cover, through a turnstile, then 3 stages, one directly ahead , a second by a bar to the right and the main stage further to the right and across from the bar. There is a private dance area to the far right in the back of the club with booths, $10 entrance good for the evening, didn't try those. Had a nonalcoholic drink ($6.50) . There were 6-7 girls , at best 4-5's . I came back for another look the next day during the day and there were only 2 girls, but 6-7's saw one on stage very lethargic going through the motions. Only a handful of customers., the night before there were a decent number of customers. I tipped the second girl on stage- she was careful and put on her mask before any tippers reached the stage.
The club is very smoky , even on Saturday the place reeked of smoke though only one or two people smoking inside. The guy at the door stated that things were slow not from the lack of customers but because of the scarcity of dancers, few had returned to work, in fact on both days only one stage was being used
