Re-opening Day (the remix)
This. Is. The. Remix. Yes part 2 of 'post that rona adventures' led me to a staple in the rotation: Criket or Silver Criket, whatever. Couple of things about this place make it a prime spot to visit: 1) no smoking out in the open. They have a room for that so you don't leave smelling like a damn newport or marlboro whatever you flavor of stanking cancer stick. 2) money goes a long way as there's no nickle and diming. No valet, no restroom attendant, no annoying shots waitress and since its warm no coat check. None of those stupid ancillary expenses. 3) there's generally a variety. Yes this place has had its bad days but I find it more often than not there's something and usually multiple somethings and most of the time something for just about everyone. And today, on re-opening day was no different.
$5 cover charge to get in I guess as a welcome back we missed you please spend your money gift. Was asked if I had a mask and noticed a similar box on the counter as at Bogarts. Let buddy know I have one in my pocket so didn't have to pay for one. Told that when sitting I don't have to wear the mask but if I get up n roam then I need to put it on. This rule was not being enforced at all and folks who were comfortable not wearing a mask did just that while folks who were less comfortable kept theirs on except when sipping their beverage of choice. Stats: 7 dancers + the bartender, 5 white, 1 black, 1 either hispanic or of mediterranean descent (more on her later). And yes I said the bartender. She was giving the dancers a break on the rotation. Basically we would go thru the 7 dancers @ 3 songs each, then the bartender for 3 songs, then an intermission for 1 song. Wash rinse repeat.
As you may have read before in part 1, I had a taste for white chocolate and there were a couple interesting selections that I tipped, however, the plans changed when I saw the hispanic/mediterranean chick. Target acquired, engage. Tip on her stage set and ask her to come see me when she can. And wait I did. No sports to look at on tv so I'm reading stuff on espn.com, watching the stage, doing some general people watching. See 2 guys that were at Bogarts come in and give a head nod in approval for the clear improvement in entertainment options.
