Monday Evening at Bare Assets

I visited Bare Assets Key West on Monday March 2, 2020 from about 8:45 to 9:45 pm. The club is on Truman Ave about half a mile from Duval St. It was an easy walk from my hotel near the south end of Duval. The club does have a small parking lot. Upon entering there is a sign saying $20 cover after 8 pm but no cover was being charged this evening. A sign said two drink minimum but I only had one and wasn’t harassed bout that. No ID or security check. Upon entering the bar in on the right along one the short sides of the rectangular space. Rest rooms are in the back right corner. For a Key West club the interior is fairly fancy. Smoking is allowed. The “T” shaped stage with two poles occupies the middle of the room. The rails of the stage are higher than the stage floor and their interior surfaces are mirrored. There are chairs around the edge of the stage . Along the rear and left walls are rows of VIP booths with curtains. Along the front wall are the lap dance areas. A couple of waitresses circulated and I had a Voss brand bottled water for $6. There were about 20 customers with the number increasing as the night went on.

There were about 15 dancers, the number increasing with time. The dancers were about half foreign Latina and half a mix of American and European white. The Latinas spoke decent English. The Americans and Europeans tended to be on the thin side while the Latinas tended to the heavier side some with very big boobs. On the whole they tended to be somewhat older, apparently late 20’s and up. Lap dances are $20 per song which is proclaimed on posters also with a blown up picture of a $20 bill (for the illiterate?). The lap dance areas are curtained off from the main part of the room and there are several each of which has a couch accommodating 4 couples so no privacy within the room. The rooms also have cameras and the manager came by to scold one of the dancers who wasn’t abiding by the local rule that one foot had to be on the floor.

Had dances with 4 women. All were careful to ask after each song if I wanted to continue. Dances began topless. First dancer was a Russian, 2 songs OK but nothing special. Second was a thick Latina 3 songs, she was part of a pair that approached me on the floor but I said I wanted a dance only with one of them. The third was a white American who said she had been at Bare Assets since 2008. Did 4 songs, she took her panties off after the first one. Some stick shifting. The last was a German woman, mid 20’s, who I remembered from when I was there a year ago. Did 3 songs with the bottoms coming off right away. Some stick shifting was done.
