Great spot on Duval
This place is great if you catch it on the right night. This was our second visit and it definitely lived up to our first experience. We stopped in on a tuesday afternoon and there wasn't a cover charge, which was a nice surprise. I'm not sure if that's always the case or if we just got lucky, but it made it an easy decision to walk in and grab a few drinks. The bouncer was checking everyone's IDs at the door. He was super friendly and cracking jokes with people as they came in.
The whole place has a genuine dive bar atmosphere that fits perfectly with the vibe of Duval Street. It's not some flashy, over the top club trying too hard to impress people. It feels like one of those old key west bars that's been around forever, just with dancers instead of live music. As you walk in, the bar is immediately on the left and the stages are off to the right and back of the club. The layout is pretty compact, but honestly I think that's part of the appeal. It almost feels like you're hanging out in some old pirate-town saloon. I don't remember exactly what we paid for drinks, but we ordered a few gin and tonics throughout our visit and nothing stood out as being outrageously expensive. Considering you're on Duval Street, I thought everything was pretty reasonable. Service at the bar was quick, even when a few more people started filtering in. The dancers were all entertaining and did a great job interacting with the crowd instead of just going through the motions on stage. There were quite a few European dancers during our visit, which seemed to be a theme both times we've been there. They were all friendly, put on a fun show, and kept the energy high without making the atmosphere feel pushy or uncomfortable.
There's also an upstairs area, although we never made it up there since we were perfectly happy hanging out downstairs. If you're planning a longer visit, it might be worth checking out to see if the vibe is any different. I can't really comment on parking because we walked over from our hotel, but the location couldn't be much better. It's right on Duval Street, making it an easy stop if you're already bar hopping or just exploring Key West on foot. I think we spent about 200 on drinks and throwing cash on stage and were there for at least 3 hours. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.
