Slow start, positive finish
After checking out Mpire and Camelot in the nearby DuPont Circle area on previous visits to DC; I made a visit to Archibald’s this trip on a Wednesday night around 10:00 pm.
As always, clubs in DC are shackled by various local restrictions so adjust your expectations before you enter. Unlike other DC clubs, Archibald’s offers some form of lap dance; I did not even discuss them with the dancers and none brought the topic up during my visit. My take on the DC clubs is that it’s best just to think of them as no-pressure, flirty fun first dates with beautiful women.
Archibald’s is located in a very busy, upscale mixed use residential/office area. The club literally abuts a Hyatt Place hotel. A flat area, it’s easily within two blocks of multiple Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver line Metro stops. There is a smallish red Archibald’s sign indicating the entrance to the left of the Hyatt Place hotel. The Hyatt Place doorman was chasing off the only homeless person I saw in the area.
