Saturday night at Crazy Horse III
This review is of a visit to Crazy Horse 3, Las Vegas, on Saturday January 4, 2020 from about 9:30 to 11 pm.. The club is located on a. normal commercial street just south of the Strip and west of I-15. There is a large parking lot in front. I think they had valet parking going but I don’t know if self-park was available or any charge for it. I had called for their free limo service and a Cadillac Escalade picked me up about 20 minutes after my call. It was a short ride from my hotel near the south end of the Strip. Tipped the driver $10 and he handed me over to a bouncer who asked for ID and did a quick pat down. He then gave me a card to give to the reception desk so they wouldn’t charge a cover. The reception desk took charge of my overcoat on this cold night and held it for no charge. Taxis were readily available for the return trip.
It’s a rectangular building that appears rather new. The entrance is about a third of the way from the right looking from the street. Upon entering the club I was asked if I wanted a table but I said I would just sit at the bar. Most of the tables had reserved signs on them. The main part of the club is to the right of the entrance with a long bar along the far right wall. To the left of the bar is the stage, rectangular with one pole that extends into a recess in the ceiling. There are about 30 chairs at the tip rail around the stage and tables and chairs farther back with a further area of tables and chairs nearer the front wall. To the left of the stage is a large area that was closed off with curtains this night but looks like it might double the size of the club if open. The entrance to the “VIP” dance area is in the back wall. There were a number of TV monitors over the bar but they were merely showing still pictures of members of the roster of dancers. The club was rather dark, especially the space at the top of the pole was so dark that when a dancer climbed up there you couldn’t see her. The music was too loud making conversation difficult. I noticed a lot of rap being played. The DJ was almost impossible to understand. Songs did seem mostly full length. Smoking was permitted. A sufficient number of waitresses were circulating but no push for buying drinks. I didn’t have any sort of drink in the main room so can’t say anything about prices. .Didn’t use the restroom so no comment about that either.
When I got there there weren’t all that many customers but the number picked up as time went on and it was getting pretty crowded by 11. There were quite a few female patrons, both individuals and members of mixed groups. There were a lot of dancers, probably approaching 100, initially more dancers than customers. The dancers were mostly mid 20’s, in good shape, only a few had tats. Various ethnicities were present with perhaps slightly more AA than in the general population. One dancer on the stage at a time doing 2 song sets, top off in the second song although some took it off right away in the first song. Some decent pole work.
