The Gold Coast and Hollywood Showgirls for one night of fun.

On a recent trip down to Australia I had the opportunity to visit Surfers Paradise for a few days. While there I decided to visit Hollywood Showgirls since it was the best reviewed club of its type in the area. The cover charge was reasonable given the exchange rate between US and Australian currencies so it was up the stairs and in the door around 9 PM for a look. The bar itself is styled like a Las Vegas high end bar with lots of brass around the main stage which is off to the left of the main bar. There is a VIP section upstairs from the main floor but I decided it was not necessary to pay the extra cost for entry up there. To the right of the bar area there is a large room reserved for semi-private lap dances.

I didn't immediately pick anyone out for special attention since my 9:00 pm arrival occurred before most of the evening talent had arrived for work. Purchasing a bottle of beer for roughly $9.00 Aus Dollars I set up shop behind the four rows of chairs and small tables in front of the main stage. Watching several sets of performers I wasn't overly impressed by the talent in terms of looks. Several stopped by to say hello to the American in the bar and listen to my unusual accent which was comical at times. I finally hooked up with a dancer down under from Toronto Canada of all places who proved to be quite flexible when we got to the VIP room in back. She took off everything pretty quick into our fifteen minute session and spent a good part of the time on the floor in front of me showing off her private areas under marginal lighting. The exchange rate was ok for the amount charged so it was entertaining and not overly expensive.

On the way out I stopped for bathroom break and then noticed a large set of framed photos on the back wall. The framed pictures included over a dozen Australian Penthouse Pets who have previously danced in this bar over the years. They also had a framed photo of Pamela Andersen but it looked like a guest photo which was taken when she came in for a visit many years ago. Since my visit occurred in mid-October and not during high tourist season on the Gold Coast it wasn't prime season for attracting the best talent down from Brisbane to work. I might drop by again if I ever get back down to the Gold Coast on vacation.
