Brutal bar way past it's hey day.

I visited the Fifth Alarm twice over the past week. Once during the day, and once at night. Mostly for the fond memories of this club, which I started visiting in the mid-1980s. The layout hasn't changed. But good god, these men who are dancing on stage are disgusting. While I'm not a good looking fellow, at least I'm also not getting on stage strutting my stuff.

During the daytime, on a Tuesday, there were probably eight dancers working. Not one was above a three, maybe a four. While I was back in the area on Thursday, I stopped by that evening. It got worse! I passed through a thorough security check, and paid a five or ten dollar cover. Which bought me the privilege of being completely ignored by the bartender (who forgot my drink), and watching even more hideous dancers, compared to during the day, sort of gyrating on stage.

I think my beer was around five bucks during the day. No lie, I couldn't tell you what the charge was at night because the bartender walked up, asked what I was drinking, and then spaced out. Which was actually a blessing because it resulted in a more hasty departure.
