I went to the Show Palace on a Monday at 17:30 and stayed for two and a half hours. There was a $15 cover. If I would have arrived thirty minutes earlier, I could have avoided the entrance fee. There is no cover before 17:00 on Monday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday nights, the cover shoots up to $25. Show Palace is BYOB. They seem to have no restrictions: you can bring in anything from hard liquor to forty ounce malt liquor. Waitresses sell setups for $8 and ice for $5. Parking is in a fenced lot behind the building. The area is not the safest; cars have been broken into in the lot. Valet parking is $5, but it seemed the valet service was not available during the day.

The inside is a large open room with many small tables covered in white tablecloths and barrel chairs. A large stage has one pole on a peninsula. There are Roman columns on the back of the stage with the words “SHOW PALACE” etched on the beam topping them. The VIP area is inside the wall to the right of the stage. Music is mostly hip-hop and reggaeton.

Nude lap dances are $20 per song on the main floor. Private dances are $40 per song in the VIP area. To use the VIP, one must buy a wristband. The wristband is $12 if you buy it at the door before you see the number and quality of dancers, or $20 once you are already inside the club. I gambled and did not buy the wristband at the door, thinking the club would be dead still early in the day. I indulged in $200 worth of lap dances on the main floor. They were a good value at $20 a song considering two-way contact is permitted. You just cannot touch the crotch area. I’m confident paying $40 per song in the VIP area would not have been a good value if the only upgrade was more privacy..
