Sometimes you take what yo can get at the PHP, other times cut bait and run.

I've been to the Porthole before and i like it. The girls are friendly (you can have actual conversations with them), the music isn't overwhelming, the beer is relatively cheep and it has a small neighborhood feel.

That being said the talent there is more miss than hit in my opinion.

I'll usually give myself a 4 song / 2 beer time limit. If nothing strikes my fancy in that time it's out the door i go. No harm No foul. DD is just down the street.

On this particular Saturday in November i got there around 3 and found a seat at the bar in the back. The place was about 3/4 full.

It must have been the regulars hour because none of the girls were making the rounds. When they got off the stage they went right back to thier stool.
