I've been here a few times...the last couple of times (last night and several months ago) the atmosphere has been increasingly dead. I mostly wouldn't bother with it but the Schooner hasn't had dancers the last 4 or 5 times I've been there, so if I want to see dancers this is the only place left in town. $5 cover before 8:00 (you want to talk about REALLY dead?), 10$ after. No booze, but they don't bother you for a drink minimum, like some places make you buy a $5 coke. 1 stage. It used to be that some of the patrons and dancer would at least try to look enthusiastic. Now the dancers do there thing, a few people put dollar bills on the stage, and no one even claps. Only the "lap dances" (no bump-n-grind) are nude; the stage is topless only, even though there's no alcohol. The ladies are decent-looking to pretty good-looking.

I had one crappy experience on my last visit and two nice surprises...at least I thought so. The crappy thing was soon after I got there a lady sat next to me (btw - some are pretty agressive about selling the lap dances, while you can't get the attention of some others) - she was ok looking and made pleasant banter, and talked me into a private dance. I excused myself for a minute, then found her to pay the counter, then she said she had to go on stage. OK, so she does her dance, goes offstage, then the next thing she's talking to some other guy, and goes off with him for a private dance. WTF???

So, in the mean time this very cute, petite girl is on stage and looks good and dances well. Really sexy...so after her stage dance she asks all of the guys around if they want a private dance, and they all say no until she gets to me. We go to pay, and she makes chit-chat with me, asking what kind of music I like. I tell her I like everything, because I do. Anyway, she takes me into the private room and puts on Billie Holliday singing "Good Morning Heartache"...now I know that wouldn't mean much to a lot of guys, but she's cute, hot, really sexy, gives me a nice dance, AND she had great taste in music. That was really nice!
