Aye Chihuahua...those of you who come...

Aye Chihuahua...those of you who come to tuscl to find information on the Schooner Saloon will notice that I'm the only one supplying reviews of this once-wonderful den of iniquity. I sort-of believe in this place, at least for its potential. The back room where the dances happen is really huge...the overhead for a place like this in the Bay Area would be enormous! They've had dancing back there, they've showcased local bands - the last thing they tried was to have a DJ back there. I will wager that they had the DJ there for one night, and when no one showed up they pulled the plug. The other night I found out that they had dancers in there the first weekend of the month, but the dancers flaked out after that. Seriously...someone needs to put together a program that the dancers can live with, the club can live with, and the patrons will be happy about.

For now, I usually go in there for a beer or two when I happen to be up in Humboldt. I don't expect anything more than a beer, and a little conversation with the locals.
