Low Expectations, Decent Result
Arrived just after 6:00 pm on a cold Wednesday afternoon. I drove so far off my route and out into the hillside that I thought the GPS was leading me astray. Almost made the decision to turn around when I spotted a building off to the right side of the road. Looked like a typical country bar with a fair number of pickup trucks in the parking lot. Neon bar signs dominated the windows. I thought it was a bad sign when a strip club had windows that allowed you to see inside. Another mission of exploration that had gone too far to turn back.
Parking was free. Not worried about safety, as it was remote and too frigging cold for bad guys to be hanging out. (18-22 degrees F as I recall.) No one in the front. Some guy was working behind the bar who ignored my entrance, but there was no one sitting at the bar. The music indicated that the activity was further back and I followed the sound. The bar made a turn and there was a speed well at the turn manned by an older, unattractive woman. It opened up to a space with some tables, a small stage, and a rear area that was taped off and what looked to be a new, concrete floor. No one asked for a cover. No pat down.
I sat at the rail near a PL that I deduced was a truck driver and not a regular patron. We chatted a bit while two dancers performed. He complained that considering that we were in Wyoming, they should be nude. I pointed out a sign that the girls go nude Tuesdays and Saturdays. I thought it was a bit weird, but I guessed that like many states, nudity and alcohol in the same room is some kind of crime against nature. Personally, I wished that I had been there on Tuesday…or Saturday.
