Confirmed Waste of Time
Prior to making my way to Magic, I had read a healthy amount of reviews and honestly should've known what I was getting myself into. The club is located not too far from a super sketchy area of Atlanta by a Greyhound station. I will say that the parking lot is well lit and security obviously has the place on lock, so not much too fear in this regard.
The line at Follies was ridiculous, which is ultimately what led me and my boys to Magic. We paid $15-$20 for self-park if memory serves correctly. Don't recall the price or even if there was valet.
Greeted at the door by a thorough pat down and charged $10 for our entry. We then proceeded to walk into a mess of people crowding the bar, all the way down to where the restrooms are on your left. It seemed like the only people at tables were couples or small groups smoking hookah with a side of stripper next to them. There were dancers aplenty giving air dances in all directions it felt like, mostly around the bar area and on the back couches. There are two stages which look to be connected in a sort of H shape. The lower half of the H is directly across from the bar while the other half sits in front of couches lining the back of the club. Despite what modern rap would have you believe, Magic seemed pretty small, well at least to me. There were plenty of dancers, but the club just felt so cramped compared to what I had envisioned. The dancers onstage did do a decent job of twerking and putting on a show, and were showered with bills although nothing like a rap video.
