6x HK

I’ve been to TJ on 5 trips now and it continues to be great fun although a little different every time. This trip was arriving for a Saturday night, working in San Diego, and then back for Tuesday night. By now, I’ve learned a few tricks that I’ll share. The logistics of Hong Kong have been covered in detail including my past reviews, so I’ll focus more on the girls should any of you run across them.

1) Use the bus/trolley when time allows. It’s about an hour from the airport and drops off at PedEast for $5. I use the mobile app. Uber/Lyft is a 25-30 ride to the border and will set you back ~$30 for solo…a little less for shared.

2) I prefer to cross at PedWest going into Mexico simply because the I like just walking past the taxis to the HK Limo garage that’s less than a full block away from the pedestrian exit. See the HK Instagram account for a video to show you where to walk. The HK shuttle does sometimes sit outside the PedEast exit.

3) Going back through either crossing is easy…IF you have a Sentri. I have a global entry card and always walk straight to the front of the line. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes. I feel bad for folks waiting an hour+…but not bad enough to wait with them.
