Not so happy hour

Parking in this place is tricky because it’s right off of a major highway (rot 17), so be careful because the lot can sneak up on you if you’re going too fast. Satin Dolls opens at noon but I arrived around 630pm on a Thursday and it was apparently during a shift change because there wasn’t anyone on stage. I’ve noticed this issue before with other clubs in the area and it puzzles me. If many guys such as myself want to have a quick drink after work, you would expect to see clubs stocked with strippers for us during a mid-day shift. Or at least have a better overlap (. I know the hitching post does much better at staggering schedules like this) I guess not at Satin Dolls because there was just one stripper inside and she was on her phone sitting at the bar. She was less than a 4 anyway.

I figured I’d stick around for about 30 minutes to wait for the late shift crew and it just never happened. I saw two girls walk in to get changed and they never came out. There were plenty of customers ( about 9 ) but we had nothing to look at. The bartender was really cool and chatted with me for a while but I guess that was the only thing keeping me there. I drank 2 beers and got the hell out of there. I’ve been there before about 1 year ago on a late Friday night and it was much different... lots of dancers and they get freaky in the 300 dollar VIP ( full menu is usually available). I do recall there being a TON of Latinas on that Friday that barely spoke English and wanted to “party” in the VIP. I heard that their rules are still pretty lax and loose so if you have money to burn this could still be a good late night option for mileage.

It’s just too bad that the 6-7pm “sweet spot” for me just doesn’t work out because of the typical shift change. Oh well I guess we can’t get everything we want when we want it.
