Typical Alberta

You need to understand the what Alberta clubs are like so that your expectations don’t get to high. Alberta clubs are very tame compared to Ontario or Quebec. Diamonds would be one one the higher end clubs in Alberta and they even have guest vip performers. The club is on a one way side of the highway heading into Edmonton close to old town Scona. It’s a realatively safe neighborhood from what I can tell. The was a $20 cover when I arrived if I remember correctly. The first thing that turns me off at this place was wanting to see my Drivers License and make a copy “to protect themselves.” You feel like a criminal just trying to get in the door.

The other thing you notice quickly is the high level of hustle in this club from the hostess, to the shot girl to the dancers. Everyone is looking to make a dollar as quick as possible. If you don’t bite they quickly move on or up the hustle like the shot girl does. Anyway I order a beer which was like $10 with tip. Sat just above the stage but back a little. The was a good selection of dancers with a fair amount of bolt ons. In general, the stage show was good. I got approached by a couple of dancers to have a good time in the vip but this was not my first trip to Alberta. You get an air dance with an occasional brush up against towards the end of the song to entice you for another dance.

But I was here to enjoy the show and have a beer or two and chill out after a day’s work. Mission accomplished. I’d probably return but I know what to expect at this club.
