Late Afternoon with the Wife

I was in Vegas with the wife, and had never been to Spearmint Rhino. I feel like it is a pilgrimage, and despite knowing that there was going to be a high hustle factor I should at least go once.

The most annoying thing about the Vegas strip clubs is the cover. I called SR and asked about self driving or walk up; they told me that entry would only be free with a Nevada ID. So even if you are taking an Uber to the bakery next-door to buy cookies, and walk the half block to SR, you still have to pay $50 even though they are not kicking back anything to the cabbie. In the end, we took Uber back to a hotel on the strip and called for the free limo; it’s some ass pain, but it was worth the hundred bucks that I would rather spend on dancers. With Uber and Lyft, I think the time to pay off cabbies to bring people to your club has passed; when you call an Uber you already know where you want to go.

The ride arrived after about 15 minutes. It was a new model Mercedes SUV, very clean. I asked the driver about getting a ride back afterward, and he was a little evasive. I think that you can probably get a ride back to the strip, but my wife and I went to a restaurant later anyway.
