A decent meal

I was in DC on business last week, and rather than eat alone in a restaurant, I decided to eat alone, looking at naked women. Camelot has always been considered the gold standard of DC clubs, going back to the 80s, when DC still had porn theaters, live peep shows, and hookers walking 14th street. It has been in the same location for more than 30 years.

The club is in the middle of the block in a very upscale business district of NW DC. There is no parking. There was no cover.

The club is on the ground floor, small, narrow, and deep, typical of a row house or downtown retail floor plate. There is one tiny stage to the left as you enter, with a bar at the rear of the club. The club was very nicely appointed with linen tablecloths and bud vases at every table. I don’t recall anyone smoking (perhaps this is forbidden in DC?). If it wasn’t for the naked women, this could have been an upscale Italian restaurant.
