A Slow Ugly Wednesday Night

Stopped in on a Wednesday night around ten pm for my first visit to this place. I was very dissappointed. They are just south of the airport (on a local road next to the interstate) next to the corn fields in the Cedar Rapids area. It is easy to see their building and sign from the road, but a bit hard to see the lane into the parking lot as you have to go down a lane a little bit and then turn into the lot - plus to make it fun they added big decorative rocks along the lane with poor lighting on the road.

In any regards the parking lot was nearly empty (bad sign). Woody's is a steel machine shed that is done up well inside. Entry was ten bucks to get in. It is a BYOB place. Inside the club is a nice lounge look with plenty of nice seating, tables, etc. and a couple stages in the middle (seating on either side). On a funny note once you walk in and turn-around there are four nearly identical doors on that wall. One is the one you walked in from the cashier/lobby area. One is the exit door (luckily they have a small exit sign on top of that one); one goes the office area and the fourth to the somewhere else. Restrooms are on the opposite end.

I got the feel that this was a local's club and some young construction worker was there acting like he owned the place (apparently he was spending a lot there every day and gets drunk there every night). The person pointed out to me as the owner was almost equally as young looking and not all that polite. Cashier girl was easy on the eyes and friendly.
