Probably the best of the Downtown Honolulu clubs. Should have Stayed Longer.

Technology giveth. Technology taketh away. When I left Femme Nu after a very uneven experience in their VIP, I opted to leave the car where it was and start walking toward Ballerina’s and Club Rock-Za. Ballerina’s seemed to be the more interesting club, but Rock-Za seemed a lot closer. I had actually spotted it on the way to Femme Nu, so I knew it wasn’t that long a walk. Something funky was happening with the GPS for Ballarrinas, so I said what the heck and walked into Rock-Za. The parking lot was very crowded, and so was the club.

Looked like a bunch of tourists in the house, and the customers were tipping. More energy here than in the other clubs I saw in Honolulu. Girls were young and showed energy on stage. The main stage took up most of the floor, and there were multiple girls dancing at the same time. The only dancer I remember was a slender brunette hottie who looked barely legal but was putting up some nice moves on one the pedestal side stages attached to the main stage by the bar. Dance price sounded reasonable, think it was something standard. 3 for $100, or $40 per song, which was the same for Ballerinas and Femme Nu.

It was a $7 cover, which also paid for the first drink. The selection was not quite was I was looking for, but I saw Dos Equis and that was good enough to order. The bartender brought back a Bud Light, already opened so I was kind of stuck with it. I order Bud Lights when I’m done drinking for the night but clubs keep insisting I buy a drink, or for some crazy reason the dancer I’m with likes it, but not for any other reason. So yeah, asked for a Dos Equis but got a Bud Light because somehow the bartender’s ears turned something which sounds nothing like Bud Light into one. I mentioned to the bartender that Bud Light sounds nothing like Do Equis, and he tells me I’m right as he walks away with a shrug. That was a boss move, so I laughed while the person sitting beside me who watched it all happen does the swirly thing with the finger by his temple.
